Altered cigar box.
As the title says...
I had this old wooden cigar box and decided to alter it to use as a box for a necklace I altered. They will be raffled for fund raising for my steampunk society and our next AGM.

Pimping a cheap fancy dress hat.
Top hats can be expensive. Too expensive to experiment with mixed media on.
So I got a cheap fancy dress one and gave it a steampunk makeover.

Pimp my nerf...
altering toy guns is quite popular among steampunks. I’ve given it a go a couple of times and recently I found this Tek 6 in a charity shop.
I took it home and gave it a makeover.
As a basic guide I give The nerfs a gentle sanding before giving them a coat of primer. (Try getting a small spray primer from a car paint shop). I then use “treasure gold” gilding waxes in various colours. Then glue on embellishments...
