New stamps YAY!

I actually got this set as i have a box I want to make using them.... but, as i dont have time to do that today but the stamps arrived today, I HAD to make something and what better as a quicky stamp tester than a tag or card...

I love that skull. cant wait to make my box. :D

The majority of the stamps are "stampers anonymous" but the word "steampunk" is from one of Andy Skinners sets.

Birthday card:

It is my sons birthday tomorrow (19th Oct). can not believe he is 31 already. Anyway I forgot to buy a card so I had to MAKE ONE!!!!!! shock horror lol.

what will be of no surprise to you, is the card is made with layers of papers, distressed around the edges and stained with gingerbread chalk ink. (its the only kind of card i know how to make really).

this one was made using mostly Graphic 45 papers (ladies diary, reflections and olde curiosity shoppe).  you can get the chalk ink I used for ageing the edges HERE.  and the Kasiercraft ephemera from HERE....

The elements I included, reflect my sons interests, photography, watches, stylish (expensive) clothes and nice cars. Although he has never shown a particular interest in the 20s and 30s.. lol.

Artisitc Stamper day.

It is my turn over at the "Artistic Stamper's" creative team blog... please do go over and take a wee look and leave a comment. it would be much appreciated. this is just a sneak peek.

blog slacker....

yes thats me. a total slacker when it comes to blogging. i have remembered to keep updating my facebook page and i have blogged for my design teams (which i have cut down to a very manageable minimum due to realising i had stopped crafting for ME and was only crafting cus I HAD to use certain stamps every week no matter if i wanted to or not.) But it seems the less I HAVE to do, the less I do.  however, thats not to say I have not been crafting. I really have but its all been very repetitive. lots of boxes for a steampunk event in Birmingham at the end of the month. you have all seen my boxes before so not been blogging them so I dont bore the pants off you. lol.  but as my blog is neglected and I am supposed to blog weekly (as part of my design team commitment to keeping an "active blog") I am now going to share some of my steampunk event "makes" for my we craft table. I havent been able to use my craft room for a few weeks so i cant make anything really fun and messy. its all very safe papers and stamping I am afraid. should be back in the craft room after its major reshuffle very soon though.)

OK so here is a small selection of some of the boxes and tags made so far....  (the majority of the supplies came from Calico Crafts HERE )

Insect Specimen box

This months challenge theme at the Artistic Stamper's creative team blog, is "the natural world".

I have made a museum specimen beetle in an authentic museum specimen box (they had been thrown out from the Edinburgh natural history museum.). I used the "insects and butterfly stamp set from" HERE. I stamped the beetle out five times and painted it with Perfect pearls HERE.
I layered it up in sections, curving it as I went to try and make it 3D.  Finally it was coated in UTEE. The label is from the chit chat stickers.  You can pin him to your lapel or glue a brooch pin on the back if you like.

Black luxury. An altered bottle for Art Daily Cafe

The theme over on Art Daily Cafe this month is “Black luxury” so I have altered this big bottle using mostly black gesso and jet jewel pa...
