There are times in life when things feel hard, harsh and just almost too much. If I had a magic carpet at those times ( as suggested by this weeks
three muses) and could just get away from it I would go to a secret garden.. with tall trees.. sun coming in through the leaves and a pond with gentle breezes disturbing the water. the only sounds would be the breeze rustling the leaves.. birds singing bees buzzing and the sound of the water lapping against the banks. In this hanging.. I am the bird let out of the cage...
Its
Stampbord and
alcohol inks mostly, and the stamps are from the
Tim Holts artful flight set.
Love this!!! The colors are great and anything with a bird and I'm a fan!
ReplyDeleteOh Yesssssss Zuzu - I am right there in that garden, it is a perfect paradise, and I'd like to stay there forever, protected from all of life's worries and the world's troubles.
ReplyDeleteOff to find a magic carpet for me too.
Absolutely beautiful, love the story behind it!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Louise, I love this! It is not only beautiful, but the message is wonderful...
ReplyDeleteI will tell you a beautiful story...When I was single, I wanted a birdcage and my girlfriend bought it for me...I knew I wouldn't be staying in my apartment long, so I kept the birdcage door open. Then, I met someone special (he's now my husband) and I closed the birdcage door. To me, it meant I was "home." We got married and moved to New Orleans, bought a home, and it was one of the first things I moved into here....And the birdcage door is still closed...In this case, it means I'm happy to be right where I am.
Hugs,
Cindy

ReplyDeleteMy garden saves me paying a psychiatrist to stay sane!! It never fails to jolt me out of feeling angry or down. Digging in the dirt, cutting and slashing are all much better than taking a tonic.
