This pocket-watch case has had an ARTChix Make over. It has been altered using some of the paris themed Collage images and a "PARIS" charm, as well as featuring pieces of German scrap and one of the beautiful little metal roses.
Well I love doing these slides. They are fast and simple but so pretty. I have to say the job is made so much easier when you have great images to start with. And thanks to Helga at ARTChix, I have these wonderful images. They are from the Collage Collection - Chixies Paris Slides. As well as the images I have used Mini Paris Charms, Metal Roses and Mini Eiffel Tower Charms.
I saw this on Paula's Blog. HAD to join in as I am positive I am her biggest fan. I covet and desire a lot of her stuff. SO.. how to play...
Well I am offering a small hand made gift to the first 5 people to comment. All you need to do to qualify is.. be a follower of my blog, leave a comment on this post AND you must join in by making the same offer on your blog. There isn't a strict time limit but the gifts should be posted before the end of 2011. I am aiming at the end of march and no later personally.... I will post to anywhere in the world.
PS: Val , Kirsten, Kay.. could you email your postal addresses to me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Here is my second post today featuring crafty individuals. Its a little assemblage made using their 4 compartment wooden tray and the rubber stamp CI_297. The flourish at the top is also a crafty individuals item. It all comes together to make a little riverside vintage looking item.. like a museum display in miniature.
I got out my Crafty Individuals stash late last night as I couldnt sleep. I've used two stamps and the frames for the microscope slide. I painted my microscope slide frames and set aside to dry. Whilst waiting on it drying I stamped the butterfly (CI-296) on to the glass slide. put gold leaf on the glass. while it dried i went back to the frame and stamped and embossed using stamp CI-293. I added some more gold leaf, an ornate embellishment at the top and a gold tassel at the bottom and presto - job done. I'm thinking I might add a chain to hang it by. I cant decide. :)
As a continuation from the last post regarding the commission.... I like people who ask if i can make something for them to feel like there is a choice. So as well as showing her the little Paris box, I made this one on the same colour theme. Which ever she doesn't choose can be sold in folksy. I am making one more for her to look at on an ocean theme as that was the alternative to the "purple turquoise and gold". Edited to Add..... Its the ocean one that's the winner lol. so this one is going in to folksy...
A returning customer wrote and asked if i could make something that was in a shabby chic style but was also similar to a specific cheese box she had bought. She also specified the colours to be, Purple, turquoise and gold. So i made this little Parisian themed box. ive emailed the images to her so just need to wait for word back if it will fit the bill. If not it can go in to my folksy shop or i will take it to the craft fair with me.
My friend in Canada recently decided to get involved in stamping and altered art. shes always been in to crafting in some way or another but this was a change for her (she does a lot of jewellery too). So we decided to do a domino swap. mostly because i saw one of her christmas dominoes in my favourite colour of teal blue.. it was all fluffy around the edges and had a snow flake.. it was so wintry.. anyway I asked if she would swap me. she thankfully said yes lol. here is the one i have made for her ( not a great photo as you cant tell the domino is all alcohol inked in mossy greens etc.).....
Well the postman arrived with my order of wooden boxes of various sizes and shapes at 2pm and by 3:30 I had decorated two and added them to my shop. i get so excited by new stuff that i have to go make something NOW.... lol. However the two heart shaped boxes below are really just rehashed variations on the cheese boxes. its a tried and tested design of mine that i can now reproduce without getting stressed out. the ribbon is so pretty it does all the work.
Well i got some cool jewellery bits from Etsy. They are pendants with glass domes to go on top. when i ordered them , I imagined the domes to be hollow but sadly they are solid glass so its limiting what can be put under the glass. I had been intending to build up all sorts of things lol. So I have been playing around to see what i could fit in under the dome and what i can stick on on top of the dome. They are about 38mm in diameter so not small. This one shows how domed the dome is.....
Well i didnt feel like getting all the boxes of craft things back out as they make a lot of mess and we only JUST got over the christmas mess of too much food to fit in cupboard and cards falling from their display etc. BUT.. I really wanted to craft afgter my gift from Moira at Happy daze arrived. As Part of the design team we were given a sum of money to spend in the shop.
I got out a very very small kit put in to a basket out of storage in boxes lol. all of it is from the happy daze shop. the kit consisted of:
