Fabric heart...

I made a visit to Artezine to see what was new for 2010 and found this link for fabric mixed media by Glenda Bailey. I loved it and wanted to do something similar for myself. This is my effort. Maybe a bit too much like Glenda's, but I hope to try more and develop my own style with it... Still, I am happy enough with this as something to hang in my bedroom. And its being added as my KEY item for Sunday stamper

Altered cigar box

I was on a professional development course at the weekend so met up with some fellow counsellors who are also friends that i trained with... It was a good weekend. But to add the icing on the cake One friend made an order for a cuff bracelet (its always nice to get paid to do what you love) and another offered a small supply of cigar boxes (after I nearly attacked her for the one she had on her). Here it is, my first altered cigar box.

DPOV (Different points of view)

I am taking part in a DPOV on my forum. the first stamp up for the challenge was one by crafty individuals. Here are my three efforts...

the first is a jumbo tag about 7 inches tall. it was made by layering the image in stages. Please click on images to enlarge for detail.I used some paper I had rusted in a metal tray for a few days to stamp the full image on firstly.. secondly i used a German scrap wing over the wing on the image. I then stamped the image again on paper sprayed with glimmer mists and cut out the lady and glued her in place, next was the frame.. i printed the image on to paper sprayed with aqua glimmer mist and cut it out.. lastly i stamped out the word "angel"and accented with glossy accents. I also stamped out a post mark and replaced the one on the image with my rusty paper one.
This layered image was stuck on to a torn book page from a vintage copy of a mid summers night dream. and added to the tag also torn edges and stamped and embossed with gold wings, with pieces of rusted lace paper doily. Beaded ribbon added at the bottom. (from Dunelm)...

The next piece is an art Doll...
made with a bottle cap.. reclaimed vintage chain, reclaimed beads and stamp board. the wings are from a feather butterfly that i stained to look less garish and bright.

My last piece is a little Metal plaque in the shape of a house with a filigree embellishment at the top. Stamped with a music background stamp.. with rust and verdigris added. I stamped out the image and cut out the lady.. tinted her stuck her on along with typewriter style sticker letters. i also stamped a small bee on to the corner.

Chipboard album:

I started out challenging myself to do something totally out of my normal style, as I feel everything I make looks the same.. so I went for a chipboard album and chose to do it scrap booker style... I am not even going to show you how that went... it lasted all of 15 minutes and was then ripped apart again leaving it blank. So i decided, best stick to what I know lol.. and this is the result.

Woodland Canvas

OMG ..... She actually MADE something!

Well after having a year off to get over some personal stuff... I am back to crafting. I have often wanted to make something using twigs!random statement. But from the first time a saw a piece by the beautiful Lana George, with branches I have wanted to try it. I have seen many people use them to great effect and yet every time I stuck branches on to anything I had made for that purpose, it never worked and looked ridiculous. Well today I have mad a woodlan canvas. Its about two and a half feet tall and one and a half foot across (this is a guess as i didn't measure it). Its felt very big to me as I am not used to making large pieces. it a textured background built up with texture paste and fusible film..beads.. mica.. embossing powders etc and the main image was stamped on to hand made paper which was added to layers of paper and then hung by a chain from the branches.
